Thanks for all of your comments regarding my last post. I like posting about being crazy, mostly because it helps me vent, so I don't have to take it out on my family (my husband thanks you too), and when you comment, it's nice to know I'm not alone in the world of crazy. Hopefully noboday gets offended by me referring to it as "crazy". But, for me, that's the only word even remotely acurate to describe my..."condition"
Well, I'm happy to report that I've gotten over that slump. Thursday night, after Clint got home, and commented on my post, and my mood, with some cynical remark that I don't remember, I decided to go for a little run.
I decided it was good to practice at night anyway for the relay coming up...NEXT WEEK! I was only planning on doing 3-4 miles, but ended up doing 6 miles.
MAN! Running is so completely theraputic for me! I felt sooooooo much better afterward.
So, Friday morning I got up early and ran another 5 miles with my friend Laurie (our relay team captain) She is one seriously amazing person to me. I just absolutely love her! She's so positive and uplifting to be around, and she can run like the wind! She is so fast.
So this morning, I ran with her and a big group she runs with. We ran from East Layton to Target in Centerville. 14 miles. That's the longest I've run since the marathon. It was great, but soo hard, because holy cow, those guys run so fast!
But, I was determined to keep up, so I kept plugging along, looking down every so often to check my Garmin, and was continuously shocked at the pace!
Our average was 8:48min/mile. WHAT?! That's really incredible to me. When I'm used to running 9:30-10 min/miles. I think I like running with Laurie. She makes me push myself to my outermost limits. I LOVE That!
So, emotionally, today, I feel GREAT! But, my poor little legs are screaming in protest. They are a little sore.
After running, I took the kids over to the little community pool in our neighborhood. Yes, this will be our daily ritual for the rest of the summer.
So, if you're ever looking for me, you'll know where to find me.
At. The. Pool.
Come on over and swim with us sometime!!
This is KJ in the pool last July (a year ago). I haven't taken any pool pictures yet this year.

You are a constant running inspiration to me. Thanks. I haven't run for over a month but after reading your post I'm feeling that urge to get out there again.
I love Laurie too. She IS amazing, isn't she?? She always makes me laugh, and I always feel better when I leave her!
You are an inspiration to me... I really need to get my butt in gear. I tried to run to the mailbox last week... whew. it wore me out for the remainder of the week. :>)
I just may take you up on the pool offer!
Okay I love to run but 14 miles is insane and 8 whatever minute miles are also CRAZY!!!! I think when you run like that your body deserves to sleep until 9:00. We all need extra sleep sometimes so don't feel guilty and just enjoy it! Seriously, I think you are amazing for doing that kind of running! Maybe we can go together sometime and you can kick my bum in gear.
I have a blog award for you in my sidebar on my blog... just click on the award, and it will tell you what to do!!
I don't think all the other stuff you post about that you think makes you crazy its really all that running, that makes you crazy! 14 miles Holy Cow, you are nuts! Isn't it funny what makes each of us keep going? If I ran that much I think i would go crazy ha ha! Good for you!
