For the last little while, I've been avoiding doing "this is what we did today" posts. Mostly, to be more private, while not going private. But, then I remembered that the whole reason I even started this blog was to replace scrapbooking, and document our life. Lately, it's kind of become a narcissistic social hour for Sher. So, since my family IS the most important part of my life, I'm going to start doing a little more "this is what we did today" posting.
So, last Thursday, C called me from work and said he had tickets to get in free to see Santa and go ice skating at the Gallivan Center.
The Gallivan Center has an outdoor ice skating rink in downtown Salt Lake. Santa wasn't actually ice skating, although that would've been cool. They had food, hot chocolate, and beautiful lights and music.
Of course, I was excited to go. I LOVE ice skating, and obviously don't get to go much anymore since my hubby thinks it's gay, and my kids have been too little up to now. KJ did great. We've taken her once before a few years ago, and she didn't last very long. She was awesome this time! TJ went once around the rink holding on the railing the whole way around, then he was done. So TJ and Peter sat on the sidelines with C, while KJ and I skated the night away!
Here are some fun pics!
Here are the monkeys with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Peter was scared of them and wouldn't look up for the picture. Notice KJ isn't shy at all about telling Santa what she wants for Christmas!
TJ, me and KJ before we set out on the ice!
See TJ hanging on the rail?
Look at TJ's face. He's not very happy about this ice skating thing.
I love this picture because it looks like we're doing a trick, but really KJ was falling and I caught her.

How fun! I've never taken my kids skating, and I REALLY need to.
I love ice skating too...It's been so long since I have though. We used to have a pond behind our house and I would spend hours out there just skating away doing tricks. Once I taught my friend how to ice skate-I took a chair out to the pond and she held onto the back of it everywhere she went (she looked like she was using a walker!)
Sher, you have such a beautiful family! You tell that TJ to just keep hanging on! :) So cute!

That is one date I have wanted Chris to take me on since we got married. Maybe this year...
That looks so fun! We're going to attempt the ice skating thing again this winter but we're wussy so we'll go to the Oly Oval.
Funny sidenote- when hubby and I were dating, I thought it would hillarious to watch him attempt to ice skate (he's an NFL sized guy). I was completely shocked when instead of falling over, he was helping me. Apparently he grew up ice skating on Utah Lake. We've only been skating once or twice since that date though.
I love it that KJ is always posing in pictures! It is so CUTE! And she's good at it!
That's AWESOME! And to think I could've seen you right outside my office window! My office looks right over the Gallivan Plaza--I've got quite an awesome view. I'm glad you got to go. It looks like a LOT of fun. BTW, I mentioned you in my Blogger Fun post last week.
Looks like a good time was had by (almost) all. Your kids are too cute - and they look so much like you!
That looks so fun!
And I've been ice skating once in my life. It was not a pleasant experience.
Looks like a lot of fun!! Love the trick shot. I've been skating a few times in my life, my most vivid memory of it is almost slicing some poor tykes finger off with my skate blade. Not good. I'm a lousy skater.
Love the snow pics down below. Thanks for posting them, that's probably as close as I'll get to seeing snow. :o(
