Thoughts and Insights from watching too much TV/Movies

First and foremost, this is important. You all need to know for the sake of your valuable time, because I lost those 2 hours and I can never get them back.

This movie.....

was the Stupidest. Movie. EVER!!!!

My kids even hated it.

That's all. You've been warned.

My husband is out of town. Again. I've gotten used to being alone at night over the years, but every so often, the dark gets the best of me. Especially this time of year, when everything is focused on the supernatural: ghosts, goblins, vampires, and the wind is howling, and the rain is pounding on my window. So, I woke up in the middle of the night, last night, with a sense of fear.

Mostly, because I had awakened from a frightening nightmare in which Wanda Sykes had been yelling at me.

Yeah. Wanda Sykes is really scary.

Due to my ever-increasing insomnia, I spend a lot of time up at night, watching TV. I found myself watching Hannah Montana over and over at 3 am last night.

What is the world coming to?

And then, after I got Monkey #1 (KJ) out the door for school, then going back to bed only to have Monkey #3 (Peter) come in wanting to watch Dora, I feel back to sleep.

I remember dreaming something about taking a Spanish class, and I was arguing with the teacher about how to say I'm pregnant. I kept saying "Estoy embarazada" over and over. Then the teacher decided we needed to learn how to dance. I remember her clearly saying "Up!" "Down!" Myiagi style, over and over.
Then, I awoke, and the TV was blaring the BYU channel. Apparently, I had been learning Spanish and ballroom dancing in my sleep.

(disclaimer: I'm not pregnant. I have been told by a reliable source, i.e. my doctor, that I can no longer have babies.)

Sandra Bullock is in a lot of movies. Especially ones that come on TNT and TBS in the middle of the day while my kids are at school. And she runs weird. I can't quite put my finger on it. Maybe she over came spina bifida as a child, or maybe one of her legs is shorter than the other.

She looks a little like this when she runs:

Man, that girl is HOT!!

Okay, I have some other randomness going on in my head, and since my track record is one post a week lately, I'll just say them here:
  • It snowed today. What the Friggin' Crap?!!! I'm not ready for that yet.
  • I've decided that the position for my job as housewife is open. I'm pretty much getting fired, anyway. I haven't done any sort of domestic duties since Prince went by the name of "the artist formally known as Prince." Anyone who wants to apply to clean my house, discipline my kids, and give me a sponge bath so I don't get bed sores, can apply in the comments sections.

  • I would write about my weekend and all the crazy involved, but I'm not sure who does or doesn't read my blog, and I don't want to offend anyone.
  • We had a birthday last week as you may know. I'd post pictures, but I kinda hardly took any. We have another birthday next week. And Halloween and Thanksgiving and Christmas. Every year, I get more and more inclined to off myself during the holidays. I HATE them. Hate! HATE!! We're boycotting this year.

  • I'm tired. I think I'll go watch some more TV now.

I've never seen anything with Hannah Montana. Is it actually any good? Or just snivel?

Did you watch that Oprah with Wanda on it? That was the first time I had seen her anywhere recently.

We are coming upon the holidays. Good luck to all of us.

Sounds like a lot is on your plate! If I have to listen to one more Hannah Montana laugh track I might lose it.

I did lose it last year at Thanksgiving. Literally- cusses out a Brother-in-law. It was only one sentence but it was so not me to do that so everyone was shocked. Gotta try not to overload this year. Maybe keep the celebrations simple and start early so you won't stress out? That's what I'm trying to do this year.

Thanks for the heads up about the movie.

Wanda Sykes is scary. I don't know why. But she really is.

Well, I appreciate the heads' up on the movie! And I watch waaaayy too much tv, day and night. And sorry, no one gets fired from being a housewife. Goodness, if that were possible, don't you think we'd all be lining up to commit some kind of workplace infraction??

Fired but not arrested. Every housewife's dream.

Cynthia--when I say boycott, I really mean boycott. I will do my daughter's birthday next week, but then I am done. NO, Nine, zero zilch, nada, nyet festivities on my part this year.

p.s. put your email on your profile.

Honestly, Sher, I hate to hear you talk like that. I really hope that you can find some joy in the holidays this year.

Hi Sher, thanks for the review of that movie... I wasn't sure if i wanted to see it or not, you just confirmed that I definately do not. I am alone every night as my husband drives for FedEX Freight every night. It sucks and is something he or I will never get used to. I don't sleep well during the week at all and the tiredness can really catch up to you. It sounds like you may have a case of the doldrums or S.A.D... with all that has gone on in your life its understandable. I have been in your shoes and often have felt the same way. Excercise and getting out of the house helps me alot. But what I really need is the Sun. So if the lack of sunshine is causing these feelings (which I suspect they might?) Get some seratonin in you by exercise, opening up your windows and turn on your lights throughout your house to let what light there is shine through, and then put some uplifting music on and try your best to be happy and positive. I'm sorry you are feeling so badly and really hope things will brighten up your life soon. Take Care of Yourself! (sorry this turned out to be so long)

Hugs to you, friend!

Every year I wish I could go back to the time in my life when I actually looked forward to the holiday season with feverish anticipation. I can't even remember what that feels like.

Sorry you're dealing with insomnia. :(
I think I'm defective in some way because I'm the only person I know who sleeps 100 times better when my hubs is out of town. Don't get me wrong...I always miss him. Just not when I'm sleeping.

By the way... I loved this post.

Good to know about Wild Things. Wanda is kinda scary. And I dreamt about the winner of Real Chance of Love right after watching the finale.

Love Sandra Bullock. I bet her funny running is either her trying to be funny, or part of the reason she IS funny. I just saw a preview for a new movie of hers for the holiday season that looks really good. It might be one bright spot for you.

Let me know if you find a replacement housewife. I'd like someone at least part-time.

I dreamed that I was riding a bus to Ogden with my bro Brandon and the second coming happened in Clearfield??????? Who knows.
Ahh, I'm sad about the movie, I was so excited to see it, I loved that book growing up.
Hey, lets move somewhere warm and tropical... it's hard to be sad when you feel like you are on vaca all the time.
Thanks for the idea about the fitness blog, BRILLIANT! if I have enough time I am going to start it today.

Oh my gosh!! I'm so glad I didn't have some soda in my mouth, because it would have been all over the computer screen. Your Sandra Bullock comment cracked me up!!!!

Yeah, I just heard on the news there's a crazy creepy peeping tom going around my general neighborhood. Theyr'e really worried he's escalatinto more than a peeping tom. Too bad he doesn't come look in my window. I'd scar him for life, and noone would have to worry about it anymore. For real, I'm glad my hubby doesn't go out of town. Ever. Give me a call in the middle of the night if you need to -k-.
AND, you know this is your place to put whatever you want to out there. Don't let those anonymous busybody rude people dictate what you can and can't put on your blog.
I know there's a lot of people who love you here, and I'm one of them.
AND, lastly. I think you guys should take a cruise somewhere for the holidays. Jamaica, the Bahamas, CozyMel(how do you really spell that?)----do it!!!! DO IT!!!!
Much better than your winter funk.
