Friday!

Wow! Is it Friday, already? This week has flown by. I really just want to go back to bed and sleep all weekend, but Clint came home from work yesterday, will new shelves for the storage room in the basement. So, now I have the HUGE project of sorting through all our Crap, and getting it organized. Keep in mind, these are all boxes that have not been unpacked since we moved in a year and a half ago. Maybe I should just haul it straight out to the dumpster!

My Holy Ghost

I just finished teaching piano lessons. TJ was in my room, watching TV, and I could tell he was tired, so I went in to check on him. He just looked sick, so I felt his head and it was really hot. So, I asked him how he was feeling. He said "It hurts" So I asked him where. He said, "It hurts in my Holy Ghost" Huh? Where is your Holy Ghost, TJ? So, he pointed to his belly.
I guess that's where he feels his Holy Ghost.
It is the most enriching thing to have a conversation with a 4 year old!
I love that boy!

I've seen this on some of my friends' blogs, and thought I'd copy.

Ode To Clint

Alright, the guilt has gotten the better of me, finally. I've been thinking about writing a blog for Clint for a couple weeks. Here's why:
While we were in Mexico, on Mon, Feb 4th, Clint was in meetings all day, and I just lounged around at the beach. But at dinner that night, around, 6:30-7 pm, it suddenly dawned on me: GASP "It's your Birthday!" I had actually forgotten my husband's birthday. Can you believe what a loser wife I am!?
I actually almost started crying, I was so upset. Clint thought it was hilarious!
So, to make it up to him, I thought I'd post my top five reason why I love my husband!

1. Patience. I've never met someone with more patience than Clint (except maybe his mom). He puts up with so much from me, and my emotions, and my temper. I have never, ever seen him lose his temper in the ten years that I've known him. I admire that about him.

2. Humor. I Love Clint's sense of humor. He finds humor in EVERY situation, especially when I'm mad at him...He always says, "Oh, your so sweet," a comment that is always dripping with sarcasm, but also calms me when I'm ranting and raving. He always makes me laugh, and I love him for it!

3. Intelligence. Clint is THE smartest person I know. He is so witty (that goes with his humor). He remembers everything, and has all sorts of information stored in that brain of his. He also knows how to talk to someone to make them see his point of view, no matter what the circumstance. He reads a book a day. He's my sexy Nerd.

4. Handsome. I am married to the BEST looking man on the face of the planet. No Joke. I have been asked by several people, male and female, if he models on the side (which is funny, because he doesn't like getting his picture taken). I think he is getting even better looking, as he gets older. Thanks for making me look better (or worse).

5. Tender and Sensitive. Those who know Clint are thinking WTH?! Well, I see a side of Clint you probably don't. He is always understanding (with a side of cynism) when I'm going through my drama. He is such a wonderful Father and is so sweet and fun with the kids. He is very affectionate and loving with me, and the kids.

Clint is the most wonderful man I could ask for in a husband. I'm so grateful to have him in my life. He is my anchor. If it weren't for him, our life would be so crazy they'd have to commit me. He keeps me grounded, makes me laugh, touches my soul, and I love him more than anything!

Happy Birthday Clint (belated)
I love you!

Friday's Random Ten

I guess the mocus has caught up to us. Peter was sick all day yesterday. And Clint worked late last night, and within 20 minutes of being home, he got sick, too. We're 2 for 5, and hopefully it stays there, and no one else gets sick.
I just have to say what awesome friends I have! We went visiting teaching yesterday morning, and, of all times for Peter to get sick, she had to do it right there on the living room carpet of the sister we were visiting! Of course, I decided I'd better leave. Within an hour after I got home, my AWESOME visting teaching companion called and said she was bringing us dinner, which, by the way, was fantastic! Then my friend, who has two girls my kids' ages, took KJ and TJ to her house while I taught piano lessons, and Baylie slept.
You guys are so wonderful! Thanks!!

p.s. TGIF!!
Here's today's random ten list:

1. So Far Away - Dire Straits
2. Ice Cream - Sarah Maclachlan
3. Enter Sandman - Metallica
4. Spiderwebs - No Doubt
5. Defying Gravity - Wicked
6. Rhapsody in Blue - George Gershwin
7. What a Wonderful World - Louis Armstrong
8. Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For - U2
9. Everybody Makes Mistakes - Hannah Montana (thank you Kennedie)
10. Solitude - Sherrie Shepherd

Yes, I know #10 is my song, but I have spent so many hours this week, trying to transcribe it, that it deserves a mention.

Happy Weekend!!

President's Day?

So, I picked up TJ from preschool today, and asked him what he learned about.
He said, "I dunno. Some church guy. But it wasn't Jesus or the prophet. somebody else, but I don't remember."
So, I opened up his backpack, to look at his papers, and he had two little projects about Abraham Lincoln and George Washington.
So, I asked him "Did you talk about Presidents today?"
He said that was it.
I just got a kick out of his "church guy" comment.

Sunday Rantings

I had one of those rare Sundays today, that I actually was able to, not only listen, but hear the talks/lessons at church. We forgot the "church bag" full of coloring books and toys to entertain the kids, and they were surprisingly good, and quiet during sacrament meeting. I'm wondering if there is something to just making them sit there and listen. Hmmm.
Anyway, first of all, I'm so grateful to all of the beautiful, talented people who put up with me for choir, and for singing so beautiful today. By the way, I don't think it was a coincidence that our song choice went perfectly with the speakers' topics. We sang "Did you think to pray?" An arrangement by Mack Wilberg (who, by the way, I LOVE). The High councilman spoke about receiving answers to prayers, and how not everyone just gets an immediate answer to their prayers while still on their knees. I am one of these people. Sometimes I do feel like my prayers bounce off the ceiling---something I have always felt I need to work on, but don't quite know where to go from here. I've often wondered, "What is wrong with me?" Are my wires shorted out? Is there a bad connection, somewhere? But he talked about finding something in our lives, whether it be on your knees, or reading the scriptures, or whatever, where we can commune with Heavenly Father. It makes me feel better that I'm not the only person who doesn't always receive immediate inspiration to every prayer. I would love to just have complete open lines of communication with the Father at all times, but I'm sure I let "life" get in the way a lot of the time. I need to remember to include Him in everything in my "life."
So, I sluffed Relief Society today, and went to Young Women. (No, this isn't my calling, but I was asked to play the piano for them, so I decided to stay).
Sis. Pratt gave, what I felt to be, such an inspiring lesson. Even though it's been a million years since I was a young women it really hit home for me. She talked about gossip and adding drama to our communication with other people. I am a terrible gossip. Clint is always getting after me about it. And although my intentions are never malicious, I'd hate to think that what I said about someone else could hurt them. The biggest thing that hit me was talking about the need that every woman has to talk things out, and that's OK, but we shouldn't take what a friend or sister or daughter confides in us, and spread it around. And then the comment was made that if there is no one else to confide in, then we always know that we are safe confiding in Heavenly Father. He knows our hearts, and our frustrations, and He will understand what we are going through. So, everything tied together for me today. It was a very thought provoking day for me!

Tattoo

Ok---about the tattoo....
My friend Leisel and I got henna tattoos, as a joke, in tribute to our husbands' companies.
If you can't read mine, it says, "Contractors HVAC Heater Ho"
Leisel's tattoo says, "Mountain States Toilet Tramp" (Her husband James, runs the plumbing side of the company in the Layton store).

We thought we were hilarious...you might've had to be there to get it.

But there's your explanation!

Peeling

So, I was just mentioning, last night, to my husband that I'm surprised that I haven't peeled with this sunburn (thanks to the Mexican sun). I guess, I spoke too soon. This morning at the gym, after working up quite a sweat, I looked down and noticed the tiny blisters all over my body. After getting out of the shower, I noticed they had all popped and started to peel. I should have known better, but to look at my face is disgusting! I'm a leper! It's hideous. I've decided white is good. The pastier the better.
Yuck!

Cancun!!!

Hola! Fuiste a Cancun, Mexico en la semana pasada!!! Que Divertido! We just got back on Saturday from Cancun. It was great! Clint had a conference for work...he had two days of meetings, and then was just played! We spent lots of time at the beach, swimming in the ocean, visited La Isla Mujeres where we did a zip line across the ocean, and swam with the dolphins, we went scuba diving in Marina Maroma, saw the Mayan ruins at Chichen Itza, and I even learned a little spanish! ("Donde esta el bano", and :Cuanto cuesta el vestido?") I knew 7th grade spanish would come in handy some day!
In case you're having trouble visualising the beautiful blue waters, white sandy beaches, and my golden tan (are you jealous, yet?), I'm attaching some pictures!

Adios!
