Random Randomnity, or the fact that I'm teetering on the edge of INSANITY

I think it was nothing short of divine inspiration that the team captain for my relay team for the Ragnar Wasatch Back Relay (coming up in June) named our team "Insanity Prevails."

It perfectly describes my present state of mind.
I know I keep saying that I'm going to come back and start reading all of your blogs, and commenting again, but life is just coming at me so fast, and I'm simply spinning out of control.
I've been occupying my time running, resting, running some more, stressing, trying to calm my nerves, eating, sleeping, dreaming about running, etc.
This Saturday, I am running the Ogden Marathon. And I am FREAKED OUT! Partly because I'm feeling a little (okay, a lot) ill-prepared. I only did one 21 mile run and it was 4 weeks ago. My last long run was only 17 miles, and it was killer. I'm telling myself that I don't care about my time (even though I really do). I don't plan on even coming close to my last marathon (St. George) time, but I would at least like to beat my time from last year's Ogden marathon. I guess we'll see.......

This is me at the finish line after running Ogden marathon last year 5/17/08

The other part is that this marathon, which should be the highlight of my week, just seems like another activity scheduled in a week full of other equally, if not more so, important things.

Like practicing for hours and hours on end for my upcoming release party, working out the bugs with my copyright permissions, and talking to the printers, making changes so the barcode will fit on the back cover, and working out how to pick up the CD's in Salt Lake, which won't be done until the same day as my opening concert. I really wanted to have some there to sell (in the parking lot of course, because I know it's against the rules to sell stuff at the church).

I'm also stressing that only 9 people have RSVP'd to my Release Party Concert. I'm just hoping there are more people who want to come and are planning on it, but just haven't said so.

So, FYI:

I am putting on a release party Concert to celebrate the release of my new CD, Solitude (in case you haven't heard). If you live in Utah, have next Tuesday night free (or can cancel your previously scheduled, less important activities), and love piano music, then come listen!

I'm performing songs from the album, and also performing a few piano/bass duets with my amazingly talented bassist brother, Spencer.

When: Tues, May 19th 7:00pm
Where: LDS Church at 590 W Antelope Dr (2000 N) in Layton, UT

Admission is FREE!

If you have YW/YM activities, then make this your activity for the week. (This would totally count for kids who have to do concert reports for school). Don't worry about a sitter, bring your family. Make it your FHE on a Tuesday night.

I think it's going to be a great show!

p.s. if you can't make it, or live too far away, but still want to hear me perform, let me know, and I'll try to work out another concert in your area (UT, SL counties, Southern Utah). I'd love to travel out of state as soon as I become rich and famous enough to actually charge for a concert and still get people to show up, or until I sell enough CD's to prove there actually might be a demand for that.

I would do personal in-home concerts if you pay me enough to trust that you won't lock me in your torture chamber in your basement afterwards.

For those of you who have ordered a CD, I will have them in hand by next week and will ship them out to you. For those of you who haven't now is your chance! To celebrate release week, I am going to continue to offer free shipping, and one free sheet music download for each CD ordered.

So, go on over to my website, and order you some CD's!!

On the side:

****************

I haven't cleaned my house in a week. I'm way backed up on laundry, and my children have eaten nothing but apples, brownies, and mac 'n' cheese (all of which they prepared themselves) since Sunday. I am having a bad Mom week.

But, thanks to everyone for all of your comments on my Mother's Day post. Sorry for the whine session.

_________

I did pull some weeds on Monday. It took me 3 hours, but I got one flower bed done. After spending two full days doing nothing but weeding (in the last two weeks), I now have weeded my front yard. Now on to the side yard....eventually.

_________

KJ has figured out how to forge my signature on her homework. She's pretty good at it too. It really looks a lot like my signature. Yeah. She's SEVEN. I'm really in big trouble.

_________

I think that's all the random crap I've got going today. I've had a few weird cases of mistaken identity lately, but they're all so funny, and/or sad, that I think they deserve a post of their own.

Stay tuned........

I felt stress for you just reading this post! Deep breath girl, deep breath.
First, you will ROCK Ogden, I know you will!
Second, no one EVER RSVP's anymore, you'll be surprised at how many people will just show up. I wish so badly I could be there!
Third, I agree on the name for the relay team, I am there wit 'cha!

Best of luck with the concert...I wish I could come, but I'll only be up for the weekend.

You have a lot on your plate. I hear you. I hope life calms down a bit for you.

You have stressed me out! I am so impressed! Running a marathon! The only marathon I have going on is my stopped up nasal passages! TMI, I know!

Okay... I actually want to come to your concert. I don't know how I'm going to swing it, but I'm going to try, so I can't really RSVP because it depends on schedule and flights... but I'm REALLY going to try to come and listen... it sounds GREAT!!!

I would be way more worried about the forgery talent than the running thing. (JK) (sort of)

Got your kids cooking their own dinner eh? Must have gotten that from mom. Jk.

I'm with little bro on this one. Show me where it says that teaching your kids the life skill of preparing their own food makes you a bad mom. Who cares that they're still little? As long as they aren't using the oven or, say, a flamethrower, I'm thinking you could brag like those people whose 3 year olds can play Chopin (I think they're called "Chinese" or something)

As for your run, well, I'll send you good vibes from my couch.

And...as for your concert, I'll be that spirit you hear tapping her toes right up there at the front of the hall! Good luck, baby cakes! We'll call this the "We Knew Her When..." gig when you're hobbing with the nobs!!

Hugs to you!!

Wow!! I'm getting stressed for you too. I agree with Motherboard, you're going to do wonderful on everything. Wish I could be there.

Can't wait for the mistaken identity post, that sounds intriguing!

Holy cow you are busy! I am looking forward to getting my CD in the mail since I live too far away to come to the concert.

I had a friend invite me to participate in the Wasatch Relay but I have zero confidence in myself. You are amazing running a marathon. Good luck!

I want to come!! I wish I lived closer and I would so be there. I will look forward to my CD coming though. That will be awesome!

I'm so inspired by your running. I am trying a tiny bit at a time. It's just so challenging to tell this old body to do young stuff! It just prefers walking over running.

Wow, you have a lot going on right now. I hope you can figure out what needs to be dropped for now so you can slow down a little. Good luck!

I'm sure you will do great in the Marathon! I can understand being nervous about it though.

And I wish I could come to your party but I've got to be at Young Womens that night we are doing first aid for girls camp.

Look out for that seven year old! Wow. I'm hoping to get out and weed today. BTW you should know that planting large perennials...like day lilies, Russian sage or small bushes the all help keep the weeds down...a bit.

How in the heck do you guys freakin' run for SOOOOOOOOO long! You guys make me tired just reading how many miles! I can only run on a machine that is hooked to a TV!

...next time you are playing in the NYC area...count me in..I'll be there!....I'd invite you to my house but I guess you won't like the torture chamber in my basement....hehehe...I'M ONLY KIDDING...the only thing in my basement is my Washer...and honestly it is really creepy down there! The dryer is in the garage..so I run out of there very quickly!

Congrats on your CD! Woot! I wish I could be there at your concert, but family duties call on that night. Good luck with your concert! BTW, is anyone else having a problem reading the first part of your blog? Your widgets in the left column cover some of your post. I'm wondering if it's just my computer.
