Random Sherisms, and Random Tunes

Is it Friday already? Do I say this every week? I know. I do. But, it seems like the older I get, the faster life blows by. I'm totally convinced that 1 minute is actually faster now that it was when I was 5, or 10, or even 20. I really think the world is actually spinning faster than it used to. So, maybe when the world ends what will actually happen is it will spin out of control, out of line in the galaxy, and explode somewhere in outer space. And all the scientists will be trying as hard as they can to figure out how to make the earth stop spinning so fast, or to make it spin the other way, but it won't work. And the first sign will be some kind of crazy epidemic, where people get flu like symptoms, and at first they'll mistake it for some kind of swine flu or something, but really it's just vertigo from the earth spinning so fast.
Wouldn't that be crazy?

So, you know that blogging has gotten into your head, when you finally decide to put away the "little potty" (the training one), and have your 3 year old use the big potty. And the first time she comes running to you all excited, yelling that she went stinkers in the big potty all by herself, your first impulse is to go grab the camera, take a picture of the poop in the toilet, and blog about it.
Yeah, that thought actually crossed my mind this week. Lucky for you, I came to my senses before any pictures were taken.

KJ has been begging me for weeks, no, months, to get her haircut. She has several friends who have cut their hair in an A-line bob, and she wanted to do it, too. She kept complaining that her hair was itching her back, and she couldn't stand it anymore. I think she is just trying to fit in. I fought it for awhile. She has naturally curly hair, like me. A bob with curly hair looks more like mushroom head. (Remember my haircut dilemma?) Well, last week, I gave in. I took her to my friend, who lives up the street, and who cuts hair. Let me tell you, that woman is TALENTED! She did an amazing job. And KJ looks so cute, and grown up with her new haircut.

Since, I never really supplied after pictures of my hair cut (except my profile pic is after), here are before and after pics of KJ.

I'm really excited for this afternoon. C and I have a date planned to go watch Wolverine. (Gotta love me some Hugh). We agreed that since it's opening night, it will be crazy crowded, so we'll go see a matinee instead. So, after school gets out, I'm going to get my brother to babysit (which works out nicely because he'll need something to do while my parents go to my other brother's college graduation--Congratulations Nate!!). Then I'm going to meet C in Salt Lake, and we'll catch the movie, then get dinner.
Why are during-the-day dates, so much sexier than night dates? Maybe because they don't happen that often.

Like nooners. If C ever came home in the middle of the day, and the kids were all at school, he wouldn't be able to control me.

Just sayin'. TMI?

If you've been over to my Music blog lately, you'll notice that it's private. Well, of course it's not permanently private. I'm not so famous that I get to pick and choose who I want to be my fans. (Really, I'm desperate, I'll take anyone who'll listen to my music. Really. Seriously, go here, and be my fan. Please?)

No, MomBabe, has been working hard for me to redesign it, and combine my website and blog together. It's going to look awesome! There's another amazingly talented lady.

Thanks MomBabe!!

I have one more long run tomorrow before the marathon. I need to get one more 20 miler in to make sure I'm ready. Where did the time go? This race is creeping up fast. But, I feel good. I had a really great run yesterday. Had a nice chat with my friend, Laurie. She gave me this great idea, since I was whining and complaining about my massive weight gain phenomenon. She suggest I go off white. As in white sugar, flour, rice, pasta, etc. And go brown. Whole wheat, etc. My new take (which isn't really new, just wasn't implemented) is that I will eat foods that are closer to the earth. Laurie suggest to look at the ingredients. The fewer ingredient, the more natural it is. What she said that hit me, and that I didn't think of before, was that all the processing that white foods go through adds extra junk that our bodies can't use, so it just stores it. In fat. !Light bulb!!! If I only eat foods that are natural, that my body needs to burn energy, then I won't store so much blubber!

Oh, and she said to eat Breyer's ice cream. Less preservatives.

Yeah!!! So, who's with me? I need moral support. Who doesn't want to be more healthy?

I'm thinking about doing some kind of contest, but haven't really figured out exactly how yet. A kind of "see-who-can-go-without-sugar-the-longest" kind of contest. And maybe the person who caves first has to do something really embarrassing, like post pictures of themselves in a swimsuit or something (that would be motivation, right there)

What do you think? Are you IN?

I totally tried to post a comment and it disappeared never to be found. But if it suddenly appears, forgive me for posting twice.

Love KJ's hair, though I think I would have been chicken to cut off so much hair.

I'm already out on the "white" diet. Just the thought of going off of sugar is sending me into a panic attack. I can do the brown rice thing though. Love brown rice!

OMYGOSH! That's today! I am totally dragging my husband to see that this weekend. He's a big fan, too, so it shouldn't be too hard!

OK, so am I the only one who thought you were being funny when the THIRD after-picture of your daughter's cute haircut turned out to be Wolverine? I wondered if you were pointing out how it looks when you wax it or something.

My big kid went to the midnight premier of the movie last night. Haven't heard what he thought. We're pretty nerdy around here -- have to see all those X-men and Star Trek and LOTR movies.

Honestly, sometimes I think if I ever actually GOT a life, I wouldn't have the first clue what to do with it.

Heart you!

I wish my hair would look like that!

Hey!!! So Wonder Woman stopped by my blog and commented to me about you mentioning that you maybe wanted to play the piano at a wedding sometime in the near future :) (That sentence was a mouthful for sure!!!)

Anywho, I was just wondering... I'm getting married June 19th in SL and we are having a luncheon at the JSMB and I am looking for a pianist :) :) How much do you charge and all that lovley stuff???

PS I love your blog!! Seriously! And I'm not just saying that! :-) It makes me laugh :) I will def. be a regular blog commenter/stalker from now on!

Well, it's an honestl coincidence that I'm here after Megs. And you're welcome. :o) I can't give you money, but let me just say this isn't the only referral I've given!!

Love KJ's hair. I wouldn't have thought it could turn out that cute!

And I'll do the contest with you for support. And I will LIE. ;o)

Have fun drooling over Hugh.

You're a much nicer mom than I am. My little one wants a bob, but she has the most gorgeous long, red hair. I don't have the heart to let her.

Cute Hair! And um, brownies are brown, not white, can you still have those??

Just SO said...

Was Hugh's butt nice??

And I don't think I could go without the "white"...good on you though!

And I can't wait to see the new look of your music blog!

Mikki said...

Yeah, if brownies are included, I'm definitely IN. Otherwise, I think the penalty is just too harsh. The blogosphere does NOT want to see me in a bathing suit.

But otherwise, I probably should hop on the bandwagon. I need to cut out the sugar for sure.

Love KJ's hair. It looks so cute. Could be that she's cute and anything looks good on her.

We're totally going to go see that movie this weekend. We're going to try the drive-in theater. Jon said we could make out during all the boring parts, I'm thinking, Hugh Jackman? There are NO BORING PARTS!!!!

PS Jon says he does have a cute butt.

hehehe...I ♥ me some afternoon quickies too...I think by the time evening rolls around...I'm usually just out of energy....and sometimes seems like more "work" (sometimes;) is that TMI? LOL! =)

.....and hey...you should have your hormones & blood checked. I'm not obese..but I came to a point where I was working out a lot, and eating good...and could NOT lose ANY weight. I had my blood checked and it came back very High with Insulin (I have never nor am I diabetic) and with high insulin levels your body is tricked into saving EVERYTHING you eat as FAT....that was my problem....my DR. put me on a diabetic medicine (that still does not mean I'm diabetic...for some reason my body was just out-of-whack) to fix the levels...it has only been 2 weeks and already I feel better, less cravings, and lost weight doing the same routine I had been! Seriously...ask you Dr. to run some blood tests.

Good luck with your marathon. I am amazed by all who accomplish such a feat. And KJ's hair is adorable!

Oh, and does raw sugar count? :)

Well, NO, I am not in ---unless I want to post a picture of me in a swim suit to INSPIRE ALL OF YOU OF WHAT THE POSSIBLITIES ARE when you get older and don't work out, run , eat right and only eat Dreyers ice cream ---see what happens. It will scare you all into being motivated for sure. but, I'm not THAT generous.
It is kinda weird that I too want to take a camera everywhere I go "JUST INCASE" a blog possibility is out there. the poop photo could have been entertaining!!

I thought I was the only one that was thinking that about the earth revolving faster!!

Your daughter would be cute bald and in a potato sack but then so would her Mom--can't mess with great genes.

I am with DeNae--I thought you were about to say something about your daughters hair looking like Hugh's!!

I am not ready for the no white thing but I can be a great cheerleader!
