Why you won't be hearing from me for a while.....

During an actual conversation with KJ.....

KJ: Mom.

KJ: Mo-oom....

KJ: MOOOOMMMMM!!!!!

Me: What?!!! Don't yell!

KJ: Mom, sometimes I feel like you pay more attention to the computer, and don't pay enough attention to us.

Me: .....(wracked with guilt)........

Thus, I will be taking a little blogging break for awhile. So, I can make sure that my kids don't feel neglected and won't need years of therapy later on it life because their mother paid too much attention to the computer.

Been there, heard that!...so I REALLY understand. It's also why I've significantly tried to limit my computer use over the past couple of months.

Enjoy your family...we'll miss you, but totally understand if we only get you in small doses from now on =)

Definitely always good to reassess your priorities.

I've heard that too. I just cared less about hearing that! (hangs head in shame). Enjoy your break with the kids.

We will miss you, but totally understand. I often wonder if my kids feel neglected. I sit here so much I think my butt is getting bigger. Need to run!

Okay...now I'm feeling guilty. Especially since as I was reading this post, Connor was trying to talk to me and I wasn't listening.

The Hulk does this. Calls for me, I don't answer then yells. Of course it gets my attention, but I tell him that when he needs something, he needs to come right to me, and say please. I don't think this will ever catch on, but a mom can hope, right?

Not that this is the point of your post. I have also had my children say, "Mom, I'm talking to you." Or pull my face to them so they know I'm looking at them.

Enjoy your break. We (I) will miss you, but will be fine. Don't worry about us. ;)

My kids told there friend once that if you ever want my mom to let you do something, ask her while she is on the computer!

Great! I scaled waaayy back!

I read you daily, just don't comment all the time.. but know I heart you!

Do this if you must. But under no circumstances should you tell your kids that you're doing it. That way lies manipulation on a quantum level.

After all, my kids sell the same soap whenever I'm reading, preparing a lesson, watching my favorite show, attempting to nap, using the bathroom...

Kids have an astonishingly high capacity for recognizing when you're distracted, and they take it intensely personally.

Show the same interest in THEM when they're involved in something besides listening to you, and watch the hissy fits fly!!

Naughty little hypocrites!

Have a great break. And when you come back, I really want to see pics of your haircut. Whatever happened with that anyway????
I'm supposed to be taking a break, but I kind of suck at it.
Ha Ha!! The word verification is "reycese"--get it? recess. Your blogs at recess.

Will you still be lurking? I find I enjoy lurking more than posting most of the time. Enjoy your time off!
See you this weekend!!!

So so so understandable! When my kids were younger, I could have never done this! I'll miss ya, but will be here loyally like little puppy dog, when you choose to resurface!

Hey. Been there, doing that. I read very few blogs now. I write my stuff late at night after everyone has gone to bed... its so easy to get sucked into the black hole of blogdom.

I'm glad you just live around the corner though... I would miss you if you didn't.
