Side note- sadly, that concert I e-mailed you about isn't going to happen. At least not with me involved. I have a 'smell test' I apply before I help with any fundraising and the parties involved did not pass it. Having had my non-profit charity plundered before by a 'friend', I'm pretty picky these days about proper hoops being jumped through. While I think the individual we were discussing is somewhat genuine in his desire to help the people, I think it's more of a publicity stunt than anything. Did I just say that outloud?
As soon as I said that anything raised would have to be done through a properly audited non-profit he lost interest. That doesn't mean his intentions are bad, just that he doesn't understand how the philanthropy system works and isn't really interested in learning. I smell a publicity stunt.
