Thankful #3

Mondays are cleaning days for me. Catch up from not doing any housework all weekend. Mountains of laundry, picking up toys, and clutter, scrubbing toilets, sweeping, vacuuming.

You know how much I love doing all of that.

But, today, while I was whining to myself about still being sick with this wretched cold, and not being happy about scrubbing toilets, I was trying to force myself to think about what I'm thankful for today.

So, today, I'm thankful, that I have a home to clean. That my children have a nice warm bed to sleep in everynight (even though they all usually end up in mine), and that we have a roof over our heads.

Today, I'm thankful for HOME.

Such a good idea! I am grateful that you are doing this, then I can remember more what I am thankful for! The WSU game looked fun too!

I use Monday as a catch-up day too! I just can't bring myself to do much cleaning on Sat or Sun because I need a break from my weekly stuff too!

What a beautiful home. I love that your finding the things you're grateful for. You inspired me to write a thankful post. Thanks! (Monday's my major catch up day, too.)

Sometimes I have to remember to be thankful for my home cause there's a couple of things that I don't like about it. Number one - we don't have master bath. Only two community bathrooms! And number two - my kitchen is upstairs. Isn't that weird? I've lived here for 18 years so I'm used to it now. It is very common where I live, but I dream about being in a normal-kitchen-downstairs house!

Thanks for helping me be thankful today because I do have a wonderful home.

Being thankful rocks! I'm thankful for leftover Sunday dinner so I don't have to cook today.

Me too.

Also, you should try those Clorox toilet bowl bleach tabs. I quite enjoy them. Helps prevent toilet scrubbing.

Great blessing. About 7-8 years ago we were living in a much smaller house and struggling, and one of my good friends bought a huge new beautiful home, and I was totally jealous. And then my hubby lost his job. I was just thankful to have a home at that point. It really put things in perspective and I've never forgotten that lesson.

Sher - this is my situation. My mother and I are hugely enormously close. She has MS and has been in very poor health (this is why we moved to the US from Australia last year - to be closer to her). She was devastated when because of her health she wasn't able to come out for my surgery. I promised her that when I was able to travel, I would come and spend the weekend with her.

So I am arriving in Utah Thursday, leaving Monday. My parents now live in Springville. I feel bad enough leaving her for a few hours during "our weekend" and was hoping to have the lunch as geographically close as possible, to minimize time away from her.

That all said - we are also going to be getting another similar event scheduled in December. I am sure that we can organize that better.

I'm not quite sure what to do!!!
